Velocity Retail’s Philanthropy Committee At Work 2The Philanthropy Committee at Velocity Retail was back in action last week with a visit to Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) – a Christian non-profit that provides nutritionally complete meals to malnourished children worldwide. A group of Velocity Retail members and their family spent the afternoon packing meals for FMSC.

Clint Palmer, a Development Manager with FMSC had this to say, “FMSC’s mission is to feed God’s starving children in body and spirit. Our process is simple; donations given by people just like you fund the meal ingredients and volunteers hand-pack the meals. Meals are then donated to FMSC food partners around the world, where kids are fed and lives are saved!” To date, FMSC has packed over two billion meals for children in more than 70 countries, equipping them to grow up strong, learn in school, and develop to their full potential. More than 90% of total donations go back directly to meal production, with each meal costing less than 25¢ to produce.

The event coordinator, Nathan Basinger, Associate with Velocity, commented “It was incredible to see the output of over 30,000 meals packed in less than two hours, equating to one years’ worth of food for 87 kids. The positive effect on the receiving end is immeasurable.”
