The 2021 Best of NAIOP awards ceremony honors the past year’s most successful people, companies and projects within the Arizona commercial real estate industry. Over 1,000 commercial real estate professionals attended the event at the Arizona Biltmore on June 9th.
Velocity Retail Group’s Dave Cheatham and Darren Pitts received the Retail Broker of the Year award. This is the fourth time the team has won the award since the retail category was added a few years ago.
“Dave and I are honored to receive this award and want to acknowledge all of the other 36 recipients who were honored in their award categories. We have a very talented and experienced team who helped make this award possible. We are thankful for our clients who continue to place their trust in us and our ability to help grow their brands,” said Darren Pitts, executive vice president. The team is comprised of seven members who in 2021 completed 104 transactions totaling more than 8.7 million square feet and more than $305 million in value.
Clients include ALDI, Life Time, Hobby Lobby, Ashley Furniture, Popeye’s Louisiana Kitchen, Whataburger, Darden Restaurants (Olive Garden, Cheddars, Long Horn, Yard House), American Furniture Warehouse, and Old Navy to name a few.
Dave and Darren have spent the last 26 years as business partners committed to serving their clients at the highest level. They co-founded the company in 2005 which now has 28 members and is headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona with an office in Tucson.
